In the spring of 1987, Pastor Alan and Miriam Humphries came to Soldotna, along with their two sons. Already seven year ministry veterans at Thornton Avenue Church of God in the Bay area of California, they brought a wonderful zest for life and great positive attitude with them. Over the years they have grown The Soldotna Church of God into a thriving, community oriented congregation. Alan is involved with prison ministry locally, along with teaching Anger Management within and outside the state of Alaska. Miriam has used her gifts for music and writing, along with her practical approach to life, to speak and sing in many places. They both have a strong passion for the teaching of the Word of God and equipping of the church. Their desire is to be a light and positive influence to the community and to the people who come from all over the world to visit the Kenai Peninsula year round.
